GMS has sent home an information notice with all students today regarding an incident in the community that the Ottawa Police Service is currently investigating. As a precaution, please take a moment to review the suggestions below with your children.
Middle School students are reminded to:
· Travel with at least one other person whenever possible
· Keep valuables and technology out of site as much as possible when in public places
· Be aware of suspicious behaviour and try to remember any details so they can report it to parents or the police if necessary (plate numbers can be written in the dirt or snow if nothing else is available)
- Keep their radar up. Watch, listen and trust their instincts.
· Use a consistent route for walking home with a friend
